Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is a great inspirational book with life lessons one can hardly collect in a lifetime himself. We all love the book, if you haven’t read it, it’s very highly recommended by almost any successful person. And they’re not wrong. Many people give the credit of their success to this book. It’s definitely a big book to get through and even review for this book can be very long. It describes the strong motivations behind the act of a person. A little brief of which I tried to cover with my own point of view in my blog post Love or Fear.

It’s a great book for many different kinds of life-lessons. Either you’re looking for motivation, inspiration, fear or passion, it doesn’t really stop providing guidance to you in any form.
Below, I’ll review some major attributes of Leadership the book tries to put through:
For leadership, one must be brave than everyone on the team. Bravery to take decisions. Bravery of actions and be brave enough to execute the taken decision and follow through it. Every successful decision has a strong will and courage behind it and it’s very essential for a good Leadership.
One must be able to control himself, his emotions in order to be a good leader. There’s many books written on Emotional Intelligence and this book emphasizes on this quality neatly. The situations one needs to lead in requires a man with great self control of his actions and his emotions.
Justice in the society we live in is a must for a good quality of life with happiness. A great leader understands the requirement of Justice. There’s many great examples in the history for this, one of the greatest being Abraham Lincoln. He wasn’t just a great president and a great leader but he was always on the side of Justice and sacrificed his life fighting to bring justice and end slavery in America.
A leader must have definiteness in any decisions he makes. A leader who isn’t confidence in the decisions he makes himself doesn’t create a strong following or respect for himself. Being a leader, always remember to be definite in the decisions you make and be ready to admit your mistake and apologize if you make a wrong one.
If you want to be a successful leader, you need a plan and not just a willy nilly plan that has many assumptions in information and its execution. A leader must have a definite plan for his followers to believe in the decisions he makes. The plans must be detailed with proper guidelines for the team members.
This habit is not just for the leaders but for everyone who wants more in their life. Success requires hard work and if you are the hardest worker for the company or organization you’re part of, it’ll pay off. Persistence and honesty with hard working will be recognized and paid for sooner or later. The diamond only shines after it’s been through a good thorough process of shining. Until then, it’s just a mere stone.
A leader must possess a pleasing personality. A positive aura and pleasing personality to talk to or to hang out with. If people like talking to you and come talk to you, you’ll acquire a high position and earn riches and wealth in no time.
For a leader to be widely liked and followed, one must possess sympathy and understanding of high levels. A leader has to show empathy and sympathy on greater level than the team members that follow him. One must show understanding on greater level than others.
In order for one to lead a team on the path of success, one must achieve the mastery of all the little details about the project and every step of the plan. It helps with many other attributes of the leadership that one must acquire. Knowledge can help keep the team members on the line of success and provide them guidance in case they feel stuck on some hard steps.
One must take on full responsibility in case something goes wrong. He should not hide from failure and mistakes. If something goes wrong and fails, one must take the responsibility for it. Even if it was a team member’s fault, the leader must assume it’s he who failed in keeping the member from being on the correct path.
This is a universal requirement for any role you want to hold in an organization. One must be able to cooperate well with others. It could be with the team members or executives of the company or managers or even the cleaning staff, cooperation is a great quality that one needs to possess no matter what in order to succeed.
